3300 - Shopping Center, Strip Type

This building is typically a long, narrow, single-story structure that is subdivided into several different stores or shops. Each store has its own front and rear service entrance and circulation between the stores is accomplished outside of the building. This occupancy is intended for the entire strip type shopping center and not an individual store or shop. Often, a strip mall features a large name anchor store.  To address the most common anchor store occupancies, see Occupancy 3200 - Department Store, Occupancy 3215 - Discount Department Store, or Occupancy 3505 - Supermarket.

Note:  To complete a valuation for the shell only of a strip type shopping center, use Occupancy 3301 - Shopping Center, Strip Type, Shell instead of this occupancy.  Likewise, to complete a valuation for the interior space only of a strip type shopping center (where the policy holder would not be responsible for the structure), use Occupancy 3302 - Shopping Center, Strip Type, Interior Space.
