Barn Cleaner, Shuttle and Paddle

This type of barn cleaner can be either a true shuttle cleaner or a cable shuttle cleaner. Spaced approximately every 12 inches along the drive tubing are hinged paddles, that on the return stroke, fold forward against the drive tube and, on the forward stroke, swing back out to catch the manure in the section of gutter immediately next to it. The cable shuttle cleaner can be used on more than one gutter. Instead of a drive tube, it uses a cable and has 4 to 8 hinged paddles on the cable. This type of cleaner will clean a short section of the gutter at a time, taking its load of manure completely out to the discharge end (also the drive unit end) and then returning back to the next section of gutter with manure. On the return cycle, the paddles fold forward against the cable until they reach the section of gutter to be cleaned next.
