Mechanical Feeder, Chain Bunk Feeder

These are usually constructed of wood with two chains, one on each side, and a slat between the chains spaced on average every 12 inches. The wood floor of this feeder is tapered starting with a total floor at the receiving end of the feeder and continually tapering to nothing at the end of the conveyor. Feed at the receiving end of the feeder is distributed evenly across the chain and slats and as the feed moves along the floor, the tapered opening in the floor drops the feed through to the bunk below.
