8515 - Manufacturing, Heavy
The heavy manufacturing building is designed for heavy industrial manufacturing processes such as steel fabrication or vehicle assembly. This building typically has a small office area (about 10% of the total area) located in the front of the building, with a larger manufacturing area in the rear. This occupancy is distinguished from Occupancy 8100 - Manufacturing, Light, by its generally larger size, higher story heights, larger bay sizes, and less partitioning per square foot. Although the slab is heavy enough to handle heavy loads and most pieces of machinery, any required special foundations have not been taken into account.
