1600 - Motel

There are several occupancies offered for both Motel and Hotel. Although there are always exceptions, Commercial Express distinguishes between the two in that generally hotels are found in a city and are more than 5 stories in height and motels are found along the highway or small towns and are less than 5 stories in height. The motel occupancy has a small lobby or check-in area along with an office and storage room. Entrance to the rooms is through the use of a single hallway generally running down the middle of the building. Each room consists of a bathroom and general sleeping area.  If entrance to the rooms is directly from the outside, without the use of an enclosed hallway, consider using Occupancy 1610 - Motel, Double Row or Occupancy 1620 - Motel, Single Row.
